All Students
  • Worked to count and articulate half note/rest rhythms at the end of the lesson
    • Not enough time to cover the concept to comprehension
    • Re-introduce next week

      • enrolled on drums but not able to attain (attempting to attain a CCS Instrument)

    • No instrument yet (attempting to attain a CCS Instrument)
      • If not flut, then she would prefer not to play
    • Arrived halfway into class


  • Trumpets and Trombone
    • Tried to reach proficiency on line 7
      • more preparation needed at home


  • Alto Saxophones

    • Tried to reach proficiency on line 7 (Mastery met)


  • Percussion - (Paige and Tyra had instruments; Ray'Niece switching to a CCS Instrument since she is not able to attain an instrument)
    • worked to establish an acceptable bounce stroke in each hand then in alternating strokes.
      • Played line 7
      • Played and counted half notes

What to do
  • Students need to have instruments
  • Learn lines 1,2, and 4
  • Apply concepts to line 5,6,7 to achieve
    • Correct pitches/fingerings
    • Establish consistent steady tempo
    • Start each note with a "Ha-Too" articulation
    • Begin to establish proper tone quality
    • Establish consistent proper posture
    • Play four half notes in succession on each pitch with proper air stream and articulation
